Anchoring Bias is a type of cognitive bias where people rely greatly on the information initially given to them. This initial information they receive is called the anchor. First, anchoring bias has real‐world implications for public management. These initial perceptions have a great impact on the decision-making process. The individuals who experience the anchoring bias tend to fixate their thoughts on an irrelevant reference point.
